The Prosthesis Evaluation Questionnaire (PEQ) has been developed and psychometrically validated to serve as a reliable tool for assessing functional outcomes related to prosthesis use and their impact on quality of life. This self-report instrument comprises ten scales, each representing a distinct functional domain. Clinicians have the flexibility to utilize individual scales to focus on specific areas of interest, thereby enhancing the sensitivity of outcome measurement.

Originally designed by our team, the PEQ aims to detect changes in prosthesis function that may be overlooked by broader quality of life assessments. For instance, improvements such as noise reduction in a prosthesis, which may be highly meaningful to users, are unlikely to be captured by general instruments like the SF-36, Functional Independence Measure, Sickness Impact Profile, EQ-5D, or others.

The accompanying mobile application streamlines the administration of the PEQ in clinical settings. It allows clinicians to configure the questionnaire efficiently, targeting particular functional domains such as mobility. The app provides automated scoring and immediate results reporting, with options to generate and save a PDF summary that can be integrated into electronic health records or shared with other healthcare documentation systems.
